An Open Campus and a Reopened Youth Worship
Dear partners in ministry,
And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”

I am writing to share what God did in the first two months of this year.
January 27: The Door Finally Opened
For more than ten years I have taught students at a university in Guam and shared the gospel with them. Last year, a heartbreaking loss on campus made me feel that we could not wait any longer, and I set out to plant a campus church.
The road was not easy. For several months I filed applications and went through a long approval process together with the students. Because it is an American public university, the administration was very careful, and at one point the approval was put on hold indefinitely on the advice of the legal team. The longer we waited, the more discouraged we felt.
Then, on January 27, the university approved us, and HisPlan Movement was officially established.
God works in his own time and in his own way, not ours.
Seventy Voices in Worship
The most moving worship was the Guam Next Generation service, prepared together by the Nameless worship and mission team from Korea and the HisPlan Movement students. Pastor Moses Park, who cleared his busy schedule to come to Guam, led the whole effort. Brother Jonathan led English worship, Brother Dongyoon Kim and Brother Woosuk Lee led praise, and Director Kwang-eun Seo ran the sound. Pastor Woojo Lee of Guam Evergreen Presbyterian Church provided equipment and lodging, and I had the privilege of preaching.
Watching seventy young people sing and worship together, I felt sure that this was not the end but the beginning. A youth worship that had been absent for a long time was open again, and I long for this wave of revival to spread across all of Guam.
Lower Than Zero
Many people from nearby Micronesian islands have moved to Guam, and quite a few families struggle to settle in amid an unfamiliar language and culture and real financial hardship. In these two months we had two chances to serve them.
First, we invited them to Guam Evergreen Presbyterian Church for a hot meal and a one-day camp, served by the Nameless team. In that short time of singing, laughing and talking together, I hope a small seed of hope was planted.
The second was at Zero Down, a neighborhood known as one of the poorest in Guam. It sits close to the air base, so fighter jets roar overhead at any hour, and the children live in such hardship that some barely have proper clothes. We handed out small gifts and shared the joy of the gospel through songs and games. Watching hope sparkle in the children’s bright eyes, I thought: there is no place lower than this, so from here the only way is up. I believe recovery and hope begin the moment the gospel arrives.
Back to Micronesia
My heart is already turned toward Chuuk. At the end of June, Nameless young adults, HisPlan Movement students and MGM plan to go together to Tonoas Island in Chuuk. It takes several flights and a small motorboat, but that land needs the gospel badly, so we go gladly.
Please Pray With Us
- That the HisPlan Movement students, who have just taken their first steps, would take root in God’s Word, and that partners and leaders would rise up to lead worship and small groups
- For safe travel, lodging and provision for the Chuuk mission trip at the end of June
- That the children and families of Zero Down would deeply experience God’s love, and that regular visits and support would continue
- That the reopened Guam youth worship would not be a one-time event but spread across the whole island
