Do You Love Me?

We all experience failure, in school, work, relationships, or faith. But failure is never the end when Jesus is in the story. Peter once promised to stay with Jesus no matter what, but fear led him to deny his Lord three times. He was broken and ashamed. Yet after His resurrection, Jesus found Peter again, not to condemn him, but to restore him. At the same charcoal fire where Peter once failed, Jesus prepared breakfast and asked, “Do you love me?” Jesus didn’t ask, “Why did you fail?” He asked, “Do you love me?” Because what Jesus desires most is not perfection, but a heart that still loves Him, even after failure. Then Jesus gave Peter a new mission: “Feed my sheep.” Love for Jesus must show itself in action, by caring for others, forgiving, serving, and following Him again, step by step.

Lord Jesus,
Thank You for finding me even when I fail.
Help me hear Your gentle voice asking, “Do you love me?”
Yes, Lord, though my love is imperfect, You know my heart.
Restore my faith, renew my calling,
and teach me to love and serve others as You love me.
